Hai Phong – Quang Ngai exchange experience in developing industrial parks and economic zones
Hai Phong and Quang Ngai both consider economic zones and industrial parks as key drivers for attracting investment and promoting economic restructuring.

On the afternoon of April 10, a working delegation from the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee, led by Mr. Do Tam Hien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, held a meeting with the Hai Phong People’s Committee to exchange experiences in developing industrial parks and economic zones.
Receiving and working with the delegation was Mr. Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, along with representatives of the city’s departments and agencies.

At the meeting, leaders of Hai Phong’s departments and agencies shared with the Quang Ngai delegation their experience in planning, land fund preparation, synchronized infrastructure investment, compensation and resettlement, attracting high-tech projects, and supporting businesses after investment. Hai Phong’s representatives also listened to practical experiences from Quang Ngai, particularly in the development of the Dung Quat Economic Zone.
Providing an overview of Hai Phong’s development, Mr. Tran Van Quan noted that in the first quarter of 2026, the city maintained strong growth momentum, with GRDP reaching 11.21%, ranking third nationwide. Eleven out of twelve key socio-economic indicators met or exceeded targets. Foreign direct investment reached nearly USD 965 million, up 87% compared to the same period in 2025; state budget revenue exceeded VND 56.3 trillion; and export turnover reached USD 12.1 billion.
Hai Phong is effectively implementing Resolution No. 226/2025 of the National Assembly on piloting special mechanisms and policies for the city’s development. This includes establishing and gradually operating a Free Trade Zone, developing the southern coastal economic zone and a specialized economic zone in the western area, aiming to attract high-tech, environmentally friendly industries and ensure sustainable development.

The visit and working session of the delegation provided an opportunity for the two localities to exchange experiences and share effective practices in developing economic zones and industrial parks. This, in turn, lays the foundation for future cooperation and mutual support across various sectors, contributing to the socio-economic development of both localities.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Do Tam Hien expressed his appreciation for the insights shared by the leadership of Hai Phong and noted that these are valuable experiences for Quang Ngai to study and apply in line with its local conditions, particularly in developing industrial parks and economic zones.
The Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee expressed its hope that Hai Phong and Quang Ngai will continue to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in attracting investment, developing economic zones and industrial parks, as well as in other fields, aiming for rapid and sustainable development.
