Vietnam parliament approves appointments of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other government members.

During the morning session, the National Assembly met to discuss and approve the appointments, with decisions taken by secret ballot.

The National Assembly also held a closed meeting to hear proposals and review reports on the nomination of judges to the Supreme People’s Court, before discussing and approving the appointments by secret ballot.

Lawmakers continued to hear proposals, draft resolutions and verification reports on the structure and number of government members.

The assembly reviewed a list of nominees for Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other government members, then discussed and approved the appointments.

The newly appointed Deputy PMs are Pham Gia Tuc, Phan Van Giang, Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Ho Quoc Dung, Nguyen Van Thang and Le Tien Chau.

The National Assembly also heard a proposal on the list of vice chairpersons and members of the National Defense and Security Council, and approved the nominations submitted by the president by secret ballot.

In the afternoon, the National Assembly held a plenary session to hear proposals and review reports on the amended Capital Law, as well as a draft resolution on coordination mechanisms and special policies to improve the prevention and settlement of international investment disputes.

Lawmakers also heard proposals and review reports on two draft laws amending and a number of provisions.
