The Cybersecurity Student Competition 2026, launched by the National Cybersecurity Association of Vietnam, aims to equip students with essential digital knowledge and enhance the protection of children in today’s online environment.

The Cybersecurity student competition 2026 aims to raise awareness and provide students with knowledge and skills for using the Internet safely and effectively.

The National Cybersecurity Association of Vietnam (NCA) has officially launched the Cybersecurity Student Competition 2026. The contest is sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. It is organized by the NCA in coordination with the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) under the Ministry of Public Security, the Department of Science, Technology and Information – Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, and other relevant units.

The competition is being launched amid rapid digital transformation, as children are accessing the Internet and digital platforms at increasingly early ages. According to statistics from the A05 Department, more than 77% of Vietnamese children and teenagers access the Internet daily.

Notably, in just the first six months of 2025, authorities recorded dozens of cases involving online scams, manipulation, luring, and even online kidnapping targeting children and students. Many victims were forced to cut off contact with their families and were remotely controlled for the purposes of extortion or human trafficking.

In response to this situation, the competition aims to raise awareness and equip students with the necessary skills to use the Internet safely and effectively. It also provides a healthy platform for students to recognize potential online threats early and proactively protect themselves in cyberspace.

The event also supports the Government’s Program on protecting and supporting children to interact in a healthy and creative way in the online environment.

The competition is open to secondary school students nationwide and will be conducted online through the system provided by the organizing committee. Each participant will register for one account and complete a test consisting of 24 multiple-choice questions within 30 minutes.

This year’s competition will present 111 awards for both individuals and collectives, with a total prize value of approximately 216 million VND.

The organizing committee hopes the competition will become a widely influential digital education initiative, contributing to greater public awareness of cybersecurity and child protection, while helping students acquire essential skills for the digital age.
