Hai Phong sees surges in number of newly-established enterprises
The number of newly established businesses in Hai Phong has risen sharply, exceeding the first quarter of 2026 plan.
In March 2026, the entire city saw 861 newly-establish businesses, up 34.11% compared to the same period last year. In the first three months of the year, the city recorded 2,172 new businesses, a 42.4% increase year-over-year, surpassing the first quarter target (1,840 businesses) and achieving 29% of the annual plan. Total registered investment capital reached 15,781 billion VND, up 29.14% from the same period last year.
Hai Phong currently has nearly 54,000 registered active businesses. In 2026, the city aims to establish 6,375 new businesses.
The sharp rise in new businesses, exceeding the first-quarter 2026 plan, reflects enterprises' confidence in the city's economic growth prospects and investment environment. Notably, in recent times, the city's Department of Finance has implemented a series of measures to support businesses entering the market, including shortening administrative processing times for business registration.
