The 2026 Traditional Festival at the Mo Temple and Pagoda National Historical and Cultural Site in Nghi Duong Commune attracts a large number of visitors from across the country.

On the morning of March 30, in a solemn and festive atmosphere, the People's Committee of Nghi Duong Commune (Hai Phong) organized the 2026 Traditional Festival of the Mo Temple and Pagoda National Historical and Cultural Site to commemorate the 743rd anniversary of the passing of Princess Quynh Tran. Mo Temple is located within a campus covering 12,724 square meters. Next to the temple stands an ancient pagoda, known as Mo Pagoda. The site was recognized as a National Historical and Cultural Relic in 1991.
The festival opens with the ceremonial procession of the Bach Linh Thanh Hoang (village guardian deities) to the relic complex. With the aim of strengthening community bonds and preserving cultural heritage, this year’s procession features not only the five communal houses representing the five former villages of Ngu Phuc, but also the participation of two additional communal houses from Du Le and Tu Doi. The procession carries palanquins, ritual insignia, and ancestral tablets of the tutelary deities to pay homage to Princess Quynh Tran and respectfully invite the deities to witness the sincerity of the people, praying for peace, prosperity, and favorable weather for the nation and its people.
In a solemn and sacred atmosphere, local leaders deliver the opening speech and performed the ceremonial drum beating to officially open the festival.
Next was the ritual of presenting the ceremonial prayer, expressing sincere respect and deep gratitude for the great contributions of Princess Quynh Tran to the people of the former Nghi Duong area.
A highlight of the opening ceremony is the special epic performance titled “The Legend of Quynh Tran – A Fragrant Lotus on Nghi Duong Land,” which vividly recreated the story of Princess Quynh Tran leaving the splendid royal court to reclaim land, establish villages, teach farming skills, and live closely with the people, helping to build the prosperous land of Nghi Duong.
During the festival, visitors also have the opportunity to admire a Bombax Ceiba tree that is over 700 years old, which has been recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree.
In September 2024, Typhoon Yagi caused severe damage to the tree. Local authorities and residents have since taken various measures to help restore and revive the tree.
This year, the Traditional Festival of Mo Temple - Pagoda National Historical and Cultural Relic Site has attracted a large number of local residents and visitors who come to visit and pay their respects.
This is also an opportunity to promote local OCOP products to visitors.
The Mo Temple relic site, along with the more than 700-year-old Bombax Ceiba tree associated with many sacred legends, stands as a historical testament to the exploration and development of this land, attracting both local residents and visitors from afar. The festival takes place over three days, from March 30 to April 1.
