Hai Phong saves over 110,000 kWh during Earth Hour 2026
Hai Phong saved 110,285 kWh of electricity during one hour of Earth Hour 2026.

From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 28, many areas across the city switched off lights and unnecessary electrical devices in response to the global campaign.

Data from Hai Phong Power Company showed that electricity savings during the hour reached an estimated 110,285 kWh, up 2,885 kWh compared to the same period in 2025. The result reflects strong participation from organizations, businesses and residents in the globally significant campaign.

Prior to the event, the power company and relevant units stepped up communication efforts to raise public awareness of efficient electricity use. Many agencies and businesses proactively implemented response plans, turning off decorative lighting, advertising boards and non-essential equipment during the event.
Earth Hour is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness of climate change and environmental protection. In Hai Phong, the campaign has become part of a long-term strategy on energy efficiency and conservation.

This year’s theme, “Green Innovation – Green Future,” emphasizes not only energy saving and efficiency but also a shift towards innovation in energy use, from technology application and governance improvements to changes in consumption habits.
Beyond its symbolic 60 minutes, Earth Hour helps foster responsible energy use in daily life, contributing to sustainable development goals, emissions reduction and climate change response.
