Promoting the role of Trade Unions in Industrial Parks
The Chairman’s and Vice Chairman’s Clubs of Grassroots Trade Unions in Hai Phong's industrial parks have become bridges connecting higher-level trade unions with members and workers.

Sharing experiences, spreading effective practices
Since the start of the year, through the activities of the Japan-Hai Phong Industrial Park Grassroots Trade Union Chairman’s Club, the sharing of experiences and support for collective bargaining and dialogue skills have been maintained regularly. Grassroots Trade Unions have organized numerous periodic dialogues at workplaces, promptly receiving and addressing workers' suggestions related to salaries, bonuses, allowances, working conditions, production environments, occupational safety and hygiene, and health care benefits.
Currently, 7 Clubs of Chairman and Vice Chairman of Grassroots Trade Unions in Eastern Hai Phong's industrial parks are effectively playing the role of higher-level trade unions, forming an efficient network connecting 373 Grassroots Trade Unions with nearly 200,000 members.
Many units, such as Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd., Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd., and others, directly exchange negotiation skills with foreign enterprises, supporting 373 Grassroots Trade Unions in effectively applying them when signing Collective Labor Agreements.
Enhancing operational effectiveness

To improve trade union operations in FDI enterprises, additional support from higher-level trade unions is very necessary. In many FDI enterprises, salary increase decisions are under the authority of parent companies abroad, making negotiations often prolonged and challenging.
Standing Vice Chairman of the City Labor Federation Nguyen Van Quyet suggested that in the coming time, the clubs should continue to affirm their connecting role and enhance the capabilities of grassroots Trade Union cadres.
The goal is to transform scattered experiences into shared knowledge for the entire system. The clubs need to effectively fulfill their function of grasping enterprise situations, workers' lives, employment, and incomes; promptly reporting to higher-level trade unions when risks emerge, such as reduced orders, cut shifts, unpaid wages, or unpaid social insurance. Besides, by compiling practical suggestions, the clubs should actively participate in policy reviews and proposals to improve labor, social insurance, and occupational safety policies.
