On March 15, 2026, voters across the country will exercise their sacred right and civic duty: electing deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. This milestone marks a significant step forward as digital technology and population data are widely applied to ensure that the election is conducted smoothly and accurately.

Comprehensive deployment of election-support systems

The Office of the National Election Council, the Committee for Deputy Affairs, and the Office of the National Assembly, in coordination with Viettel, have deployed a group of digital systems supporting the election, consisting of three main platforms:

- National Election Portal: https://hoidongbaucu.quochoi.vn/
This official website allows citizens to update the election schedule and monitor progress and results in real time. Candidates can also create and submit their profiles online by logging in through VNeID.

- Election Management System: https://congtacdaibieu.quochoi.vn/
This platform digitizes the entire operational process, from consultation procedures and candidate list preparation to the automatic aggregation of data from localities to the central level.

- Deputy Profile Management System:
This system digitizes personal records and professional histories of each deputy, forming an interconnected database throughout the entire term.

These systems are designed in strict compliance with the architecture of a Digital National Assembly, helping automate procedures and standardize centralized data sources. This not only meets the requirements of a specific election but also contributes to building a sustainable digital ecosystem for the long-term operation of the National Assembly.

Through VNeID, voters can easily look up their polling stations and view the brief biographies and action programs of candidates.

Integrating multiple features for voters on VNeID

The VNeID electronic identification platform and the National Population Database provide a solid foundation for applying a digital election model. Since October 2025, the Ministry of Public Security has guided the use of population data to compile voter lists and print voter cards. Each citizen having a unique identification number helps ensure the accuracy of voter lists and minimizes duplication or omissions.

Through VNeID, voters can easily search for their polling locations and view the brief biographies and action plans of candidates. Notably, the Ministry of Public Security has also implemented a process to issue certificates for voting at alternative locations in electronic form. This solution enables citizens who are working or studying away from their hometowns to exercise their voting rights more conveniently.

The connection between the election information portal and the population database also helps candidates automatically fill in personal information in declaration forms, ensuring consistency and transparency. These efforts not only improve management efficiency but also foster excitement and confidence among the public ahead of the country’s major election day.
