Completing dossier on Vietnam’s Pho as World Heritage
The 2026 Pho (rice noodle soup) Festival gathers numerous Vietnam’s pho brands from across the country, honoring the cultural value of Vietnam’s pho and providing practical evidence for the UNESCO nomination dossier.

The 2026 Pho Festival, themed ‘Living Heritage in the heart of the era," will take place from March 20 to 22 in Ninh Binh.
The event not only aims to celebrate folk knowledge and traditional crafts associated with Vietnam’s pho but also contributes practical data and evidence to the dossier proposing UNESCO recognition of Vietnam’s pho as an intangible cultural heritage.
The festival brings together numerous artisans, chefs, researchers, and representative Vietnam’s pho brands from across the country. Before the official opening, on March 19, the activity ‘Returning to Van Cu Village Communal House, opening the heritage pages" will serve as the prelude to the series of events honoring Vietnam’s pho.
A highlight of the 2026 Pho Festival is the large-scale culinary display and experience area featuring over 40 booths introducing Vietnam’s pho from the three regions.
In addition to culinary experiences, the festival will host specialized programs such as the ‘Vietnam’s pho Imprint’ appraisal, the forum ‘Vietnam’s pho in the flow of world heritage’, the artistic night ‘Pho Connect’, and the talk ‘We love Vietnam’s pho - bridge of heritage and global connection mission."
The activities are designed to blend traditional craft demonstrations, professional exchanges, and artistic performances, honoring the cultural and historical values as well as the creative vitality of the heritage-practicing community.
