Abundant labor supply in first months of 2026
In the first two months of 2026, Hai Phong city's labor market showed vibrant signs as labor supply exceeded recruitment demand.
According to the Department of Home Affairs, in the first two months of 2026, the Employment Service Center organized 10 job exchange sessions. These included 7 regular job exchange sessions at the center; 3 online job exchange sessions; and 1 job fair in Ngo Quyen ward.
The job exchange sessions attracted 91 participating recruitment companies with demand for 24,876 labor turns; labor supply at the exchange reached over 27,060 turns, exceeding recruitment demand by 8.7%.
Labor supply surpassing demand indicates a dynamic market; abundant supply stems from early-year trends where some workers seek job changes or new opportunities.
Also according to the Department of Home Affairs, in the first two months of 2026, the entire city had 3,288 people registering for unemployment insurance, up 25.11% from the same period in 2025; unemployment insurance was settled for 3,584 people, up 24.88%. Total unemployment benefit payments amounted to 102.9 billion VND, up 19.76%. Through unemployment benefit processing, the City Employment Service Center also counseled and introduced jobs to 3,288 workers, up 25.11% from the same period last year.
