Hai Phong Power Company has proactively developed plans to ensure a safe and stable power supply for Election Day, while strengthening inspections of the power grid and standing ready to promptly handle any incidents that may arise.

Workers of the Thanh Mien regional power management team inspect the power supply at a polling station in Thanh Mien Commune, Hai Phong.

To serve the election of deputies to the National Assembly of Vietnam (15th term) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, Hai Phong Power Company has developed a plan to ensure a safe, stable and continuous power supply before, during and after Election Day across the entire city.

According to forecasts, on March 15, when the election takes place, the electricity load in Hai Phong may reach a maximum capacity of 2,800–3,050 MW, with a minimum capacity of 1,750–1,850 MW. Daily electricity consumption is estimated at 47–49 million kWh. Under the current operating plan of the power system—including 110 kV transmission lines and medium-voltage grids—if no unusual incidents occur, power lines and substations will not be overloaded and will be able to meet electricity demand.

To ensure reliable power supply, Hai Phong Power Company has instructed regional power management teams to proactively coordinate with local authorities to identify locations for polling stations, vote counting venues, and political, cultural and artistic events celebrating the election. Based on this information, plans are established to guarantee continuous and safe electricity supply for these sites.

On Election Day, the company requires regional power teams not to carry out any grid maintenance that may interrupt power supply, except in emergency cases. They must proactively inspect and repair power lines serving priority locations. Operational standby regimes will be strengthened, with adequate materials, equipment, communication systems and transport means prepared to promptly handle any damage or incidents.

The company will also coordinate with local authorities and media agencies to promote safe and economical electricity use, while preventing and strictly handling acts such as releasing metallic-coated paper balloons or throwing objects onto power lines, which may threaten the grid’s safety. If any incident occurs, regional power teams must immediately inspect and resolve the issue, prioritizing the restoration of power supply to polling stations.

Meanwhile, the Dispatching Department will strictly follow the established power supply plan and implement the approved procedures in case of incidents. On Election Day, company leaders will remain on duty 24/7, with sufficient personnel arranged for operational shifts and backup teams ready when necessary.

With thorough preparations, Hai Phong Power Company is determined to ensure the safe operation of the power system, contributing to the successful organization of the nationwide Election Day.
