Hai Phong proposes seven Cat Hai fish sauce products for national 5-star OCOP certification

Hai Phong authorities have proposed recognizing seven fish sauce products from Cat Hai as national five-star products under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program.

All products submitted by Hai Phong for national OCOP certification are fish sauce, a signature product of the traditional craft village in Cat Hai.

The People’s Committee of Hai Phong has asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to evaluate and classify seven OCOP products from the city for national five-star certification.

The list includes four Cat Hai fish sauce products made by Cat Hai Seafood Services Processing Joint Stock Company and three traditional fish sauce and tuna products produced by Quang Hai Co., Ltd.

These products were assessed by Hai Phong’s OCOP product evaluation council and scored more than 90 points out of a maximum of 100.

To be recognized as national five-star OCOP products, items must meet strict criteria related to raw materials, raw materials, production processes, product origin, uniqueness and export potential.

Hai Phong currently has more than 900 OCOP-recognized products. Of these, eight have been granted national five-star status, including three mung bean cake products made by Hoang Giang Joint Stock Company and five ceramic products produced by Chu Dau Pottery Joint Stock Company.
