Hai Phong Party secretary inspects preparations for elections
Le Tien Chau, a member of the Party Central Committee and secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, expressed confidence that elections for the 16th National Assembly of Vietnam and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term will be successfully held.

On March 10, the Hai Phong Party secretary inspected preparations for the elections in Thanh Ha and Ha Dong communes. Accompanying him was Bui Van Thang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hai Phong Party Committee and director of the city’s Department of Agriculture and Environment.
During inspections at polling stations, the Hai Phong Party secretary acknowledged the local authorities for their proactive efforts in preparing for election day. Decorations, polling stations and other necessary arrangements for voters have been completed ahead of the vote scheduled for March 15.
The Hai Phong Party secretary asked local authorities to ensure adequate facilities at polling stations so voters can conveniently exercise their voting rights. Localities were also urged to provide practical training and guidance for members of election teams to ensure they fully understand procedures and operational requirements.

Police and other functional forces were instructed to closely and proactively ensure political security and social order before, during and after election day.
Emphasizing that elections for the National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels are an important political event for the country and the city, the Hai Phong Party secretary urged local Election Committees to complete remaining tasks and ensure all preparations are in place so the vote can take place safely and in accordance with regulations.
Local authorities were also asked to organize meetings between voters and candidates for the People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term in a democratic and lawful manner.
In addition, localities were instructed to continue reviewing and updating voter lists, paying particular attention to groups such as elderly voters, migrant workers, those living abroad and voters unable to directly attend polling stations.
The Hai Phong Party secretary expressed confidence that with thorough preparations and coordinated efforts across the political system, the elections for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in Hai Phong will be held in accordance with regulations, ensuring democracy, safety and success.
