PM calls for transport links between Gia Binh airport and northern growth hubs
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed ministries and local authorities to study transport connections between Gia Binh International Airport and Hai Phong.

The Government Office of Vietnam released a notice outlining the prime minister’s conclusions following an inspection of the airport project and the road connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi.
The Prime Minister said Gia Binh International Airport is a key national project. Beyond serving as an international airport, it is expected to open up new development space for the capital region and Bac Ninh Province.
The airport is also envisioned as a transport hub linking three major growth poles in northern Vietnam: Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh Province.
It will also strengthen connectivity with provinces in the Red River Delta and the capital region, as well as enhancing international connectivity via road and rail border crossings in Lao Cai, Lang Son and Quang Ninh.
To achieve this goal, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to lead study and propose a plan for an expressway linking Gia Binh International Airport with Hai Phong.
The project must ensure synchronized connectivity and maximize the effectiveness of both the airport project and the planned road linking the airport with Hanoi.
The Prime Minister also asked ministries, sectors and local authorities, including Hanoi, Bac Ninh Province, Hung Yen Province, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh Province, to review the progress of transport projects connecting to Gia Binh airport, including roads, railways and seaports.
They were tasked to develop implementation plans and schedule to ensure these projects are completed and put into operation in sync with Gia Binh International Airport.
