Duong Kinh resettlement area races to completion
With the determination of local authorities, the efforts of contractors, and the consensus of residents, the Dương Kinh resettlement area is gradually taking shape.
After more than half a year of construction, the Dương Kinh resettlement area is accelerating progress, aiming to finish technical infrastructure early and ensure stable housing for residents.
Accelerating infrastructure completion
In the early days of March 2026, at the Dương Kinh resettlement construction site for site clearance of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Haiphong Railway Investment Project, machinery operates continuously. Workers rotate shifts to build roads, drainage systems, and site leveling to complete the project ahead of schedule.
The Dương Kinh resettlement area has been implemented since August 2025 to relocate households affected by the railway segment through the city. It is one of the largest among 22 planned resettlement areas critical to the entire route.
Statistics show the railway route through the city will reclaim over 624 hectares of land, affecting about 6,000 households. The massive site clearance workload directly impacts residents' interests. Thus, preparing resettlement land funds is seen as a fundamental solution to build consensus during acquisitions.
A key advantage is early site clearance for the resettlement area, ensuring a clean site for uninterrupted construction. Legal documents and investment procedures are completed in parallel, minimizing delays. If finished on time, resettling residents will be proactive, avoiding prolonged waits that could slow the overall railway project.
Building trust and consensus
Once completed and put in use, the area will not only meet residents' housing needs but also form a new community with full infrastructure, gradually improving urban quality. It is also an important preparation for the city to effectively implement the strategic railway project, enhancing regional connectivity and socio-economic development.
Thanks to authorities' resolve, contractors' hard work, and residents' support, the Dương Kinh resettlement area will be soon completed. With residents settled and sites handed over on schedule, the national strategic railway project gains momentum for synchronized, rapid implementation.
