Rao 3 Bridge and coastal connecting road soon to be built

The project to construct the road from Rao 3 Bridge to the coastal highway is expected to form a main traffic artery for the new urban area, helping reduce congestion on Provincial Road 353 and the surrounding transportation network.

Hai Phong People’s Committee Standing Vice Chairman Le Anh Quan has just signed the decision approving the investment policy for the project to build a connecting road from Rao 3 Bridge to the coastal road, spanning from Bui Vien Street to Provincial Road 363.

The project includes constructing Rao 3 Bridge over Lach Tray River, approximately 610 meters long, with the main bridge at 344 meters and approach bridges totaling 266 meters; the main bridge width is 49 meters, approach bridges 38 meters, accommodating 6 lanes for motorized vehicles. It also features an overpass bridge across Hoa Binh Canal, 56.1 meters long and 50.5 meters wide.

The project will build approach roads at both ends of Rao 3 Bridge, connecting Bui Vien Street and Provincial Road 363, to urban arterial street standards with a design speed of 80 km/h, spanning about 4.2 km, including 6 motorized lanes, 2 side lanes, and expansions linking to nearby roads. It includes at-grade intersections with Bui Vien Street, Provincial Road 355, and Provincial Road 363, plus synchronized technical infrastructure such as drainage, green spaces, and street lighting.

The project has a total investment of 3,858.8 billion VND from the city budget, implemented from 2025 to 2029, located in An Bien and Hung Dao Wards, with Hai Phong Transport Infrastructure Project Management Board as the investor./.
