With the capacity of handling ultra-large container vessels with synchronized berths and advanced handling technology, Lach Huyen Port is emerging as a strategic driver for logistics and maritime economic development across northern Vietnam.

Accelerate production early in 2026

After Tet holiday, a brisk working atmosphere quickly returned at many enterprises, stabilizing production routines and sparking lively competition among businesses. As of February 21, State budget revenue reached over VND 37 trillion, hitting 19.1% of the annual target and showing solid growth year-on-year.

During Tet, port cargo throughput hit 1.855 million tons, up nearly 15% from last year, while import-export turnover reached $5.45 billion. Tourism and services surged, welcoming over 910,000 visitors, up 45.7%, with revenues topping VND 746 billion. Local markets remained stable, fully meeting public demand.

Haiphong is ramping up transport infrastructure investments to boost regional connectivity and expansion. Projects like the Lach Huyen deep-water port cluster, links within the Hanoi-Haiphong-Quang Ninh triangle to Mong Cai border gate, are delivering early results, facilitating cargo flow. New economic zones, including the southern coastal economic zone, free trade zone, and western specialized economic zone, promise fresh investment opportunities and sustained growth.

Haiphong Port now manages 21 berths totaling over 4,200 meters of quay length, accommodating vessels up to 165,000 DWT.

Around 200 new projects in industrial parks and clusters are slated to launch in 2026, generating roughly VND 150 trillion in revenue. Major construction initiatives are accelerating, including social housing and post-port road infrastructure around Lach Huyen, poised to maximize capacity at berths No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No.6.

Fueled by this spring momentum and unified efforts from the entire political system and business community, Hai Phong stands ready for a powerful surge in 2026 and beyond.
