Famtrip to Con Son – Kiep Bac promotes heritage tourism links
A famtrip program to the Con Son – Kiep Bac heritage complex is helping promote the World Heritage site while supporting Hai Phong’s strategy to strengthen regional tourism links.

On February 28, Hai Phong’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a famtrip and introduced tourism products associated with the Con Son – Kiep Bac historical complex.
Participants included representatives of tourism associations, travel firms and tourism training institutions in Hai Phong.

The group offered incense at Kiep Bac Temple, a site associated with national hero Tran Hung Dao, and surveyed infrastructure and visitor services. The temple is an important component of the Con Son – Kiep Bac World Heritage complex and plays a role in developing cultural and spiritual tourism.
At Con Son Pagoda, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of the Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week held as part of the 2026 Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival. They also visited the pagoda and the Nguyen Trai Temple.
The program provided travel companies with an opportunity to better understand the festival as well as the site’s capacity to receive visitors during the peak tourism season.

In the afternoon, the group surveyed Thanh Mai Pagoda, a site associated with the Truc Lam Zen sect and known for its distinctive red maple forest. Participants were introduced to the site’s historical and architectural values and sampled local cuisine.
As part of this year’s Con Son – Kiep Bac Spring Festival, organizers are upgrading three tourism routes: “One journey – five World Heritage destinations,” “Following the footsteps of the Truc Lam Zen patriarchs,” and “Exploring the Con Son – Kiep Bac World Heritage site.”
The famtrip program is expected to further promote the World Heritage site while supporting tourism development through regional cooperation and specialized tourism products linked to heritage, spiritual tourism and eco-tourism.
