High-efficiency, low-emission rice farming model launched
Hai Phong City is one of two northern localities selected to launch the high-efficiency, low-emission rice farming model aimed at adapting to climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

On the morning of February 26, the Plant Production and Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, in collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute and Hai Phong City's Department of Agriculture and Environment, held the launch ceremony for the high-efficiency, low-emission rice farming model in Huu Chung Hamlet, Tan An Commune.

The model is deployed on 2 hectares, planting VNR 20 short-duration rice variety – high-yield and quality, developed to meet production needs under harsh weather and climate change conditions. The launch ceremony featured demonstrations of precision mechanized sowing combined with fertilizer burial; practical sessions on low-emission rice farming processes and specialized zonal fertilizer use. This aims to boost farming efficiency, production quality, fertilizer use effectiveness, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions in rice production./.
