Over VND 7.6 trillion in social welfare payments disbursed for Tet 2026
During the Lunar New Year holiday 2026, more than VND 7.6 trillion in social welfare payments was delivered on schedule to pensioners, beneficiaries of preferential policies and social protection recipients.
A key highlight of the Tet holiday was the implementation of social welfare payments. Following guidance from Vietnam Social Security to combine pension and social insurance benefit payments for February and March 2026 into a single February payment cycle, Vietnam Post worked closely with local social security agencies to develop safe and convenient payment plans.
By the end of the February 2026 payment period, 34 provinces and centrally run cities had largely completed the distribution of pensions and social insurance benefits to 415,215 beneficiaries, with a total value exceeding VND 4.415 trillion.
Regarding payments for state contributors, 29 provinces and cities implemented distribution through the postal network, with total payments reaching VND 1.497 trillion for 412,752 beneficiaries.
In the field of social protection, 32 provinces and cities made payments through the postal network, totaling VND 1.78 trillion for 2,086,321 beneficiaries.
In total, social welfare payments delivered through the postal network during the Tet holiday 2026 exceeded VND 7.692 trillion, reaching millions of residents before and during the early days of the new year.
