Flower and ornamental plant decorations for the Lunar New Year
Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee Le Anh Quan emphasized the need to innovate flower and ornamental plant decoration designs to ensure they are in harmony with the city’s expanded urban space.
On February 11, Mr. Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee, inspected the implementation of flower and ornamental plant decorations for the Lunar New Year 2026 at the intersection of Truong Chinh and Vo Nguyen Giap roads (Tu Minh Ward); the Xu Dong Cultural Center (Le Thanh Nghi Ward); Bach Dang Park Peninsula (Hai Duong Ward); the city’s centre (Hong Bang Ward); To Huu Flower Garden and the City Political–Administrative Center area (Thuy Nguyen Ward), among other locations.
Standing Vice Chairman Le Anh Quan requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with local authorities to further enhance flower and ornamental plant decorations at key areas, and to study innovative design approaches that ensure aesthetics, artistic quality, modernity, and suitability with the expanded urban space.
After more than a decade, Hai Phong City has expanded its urban space. In the past, decorative activities and cultural–artistic events were mainly concentrated around the City Theater and several squares in the western area — traditional venues that have been maintained over time.
However, to meet development requirements within the new urban space following the administrative merger, the city has invested in decorations and organized artistic performances and fireworks displays centered at the City Political–Administrative Center. These activities serve large numbers of residents from both the eastern and western parts of the city who come to visit, enjoy the scenery, and take part in the Lunar New Year celebrations.
Notably, this year the city is organizing a large-scale, high-quality New Year’s Eve artistic program and fireworks display. The selection of the City Political–Administrative Center — with its spacious grounds and synchronized infrastructure — will create favorable conditions to well meet the public’s demand for celebrating the Spring Festival and welcoming the Lunar New Year across the city.
