NCHMF has announced that cold air activity is expected to weaken from February 10, allowing temperatures across northern Vietnam, including Hai Phong, to gradually increase and bringing an end to the recent widespread severe cold spell.

Average temperatures in the Northern Delta and Midland regions are forecast to range from 17°C to 20°C, while mountainous areas are expected to record temperatures between 14°C and 17°C.

The NCHMF noted that although cold air activity during February will generally be weaker than usual, intermittent cold surges may still occur and could trigger localized periods of severe cold.

Meanwhile, light rain and drizzle are forecast to affect northern provinces and cities mainly during the latter half of February and into March, broadly in line with the multi-year seasonal average.
