According to the Hai Phong People’s Committee, the city attracted USD 412.6 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) in January 2026, up 69% year-on-year and exceeding the monthly target at 101%.

Of the total, industrial parks and economic zones accounted for approximately USD 400 million, representing 97% of the total FDI inflows, while areas outside industrial parks and economic zones attracted USD 12.68 million.

During the month, Hai Phong also mobilized VND 24.228 trillion in domestic investment. The city recorded 921 newly established enterprises, with registered capital of VND 6.259 trillion, 1.5 times higher than the same period in 2025. Meanwhile, 713 enterprises resumed operations, up 1.32 times.

In 2026, Hai Phong has set a target to attract USD 3.8 billion - USD 4.3 billion in FDI, reinforcing its position as a key industrial and logistics hub in northern Vietnam.
