Early voting proposed for Bach Long Vi Special Zone
It has been proposed that the Bach Long Vi Special Zone conduct early voting for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, one day earlier than the official nationwide polling date.

On January 30, the Hai Phong Municipal Party Committee's Steering Committee for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term held its third meeting to review reports on the s preparations for the election across the city.
At the meeting, the Steering Committee agreed in principle to allow voting to be held one day earlier than the official polling date, in accordance with regulations, at polling stations in the Bach Long Vi Special Zone. Voting in the area is expected to take place on Saturday, March 14.
The Steering Committee assigned the city’s Election Committee to report to the National Election Council for consideration and decision.
According to the Department of Home Affairs, the Bach Long Vi Island Special Zone is located approximately 120 nautical miles from the mainland. Travel between the mainland and the island faces difficulties and is highly dependent on weather conditions. As a result, in both the 2016 and 2021 elections, voting here was held one day in advance.
This arrangement is expected to facilitate proactive preparations, while aligning with the city’s overall election schedule.
