The Ministry of Construction is actively selecting top global high-speed rail consultants to research and choose technical solutions and implement the North-South high-speed railway project.
At the regular press conference on the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year held on January 30, regarding the issue of enterprises requesting to withdraw their investment registration for the North-South high-speed railway project, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Danh Huy affirmed the balanced approach to responsibilities between the State and enterprises, ensuring project feasibility rather than shifting risks to the private sector.
Currently, the Ministry of Construction is actively selecting top global high-speed rail consultants to research and select optimal technical solutions.
In 2026, the Ministry of Construction has set goals to continue promoting research, technology transfer, application, and development of advanced solutions in infrastructure development. For the railway sector, the target is for Vietnamese enterprises to gradually master high-speed railway and urban railway construction technology, reduce dependence on foreign contractors.
