157 candidates introduced for Hai Phong City People’s Council
All individuals introduced as candidates for the Hai Phong City People’s Council received 100 percent approval from voters at their workplaces.

Following the first round of consultative conferences, the Standing Committee of Hai Phong Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee issued a notice allocating 159 individuals for nomination to the 17th-term Hai Phong City People’s Council (2026–2031) to relevant agencies and units.
A total of 157 candidates were introduced, two fewer than the allocated number, as the City Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the City Business Association submitted written requests not to hold nomination conferences.
As of the morning of January 30, no self-nominated candidates for the 17th-term Hai Phong City People’s Council (2026–2031) had been recorded.
Among the 157 introduced candidates, 73 are female; 37 are young candidates under the age of 40; 22 are non-Party members; and 50 are incumbent candidates seeking re-election.
Agencies and units have submitted summary profiles of all 157 candidates to the Standing Committee of Hai Phong Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee. As of January 29, the Hai Phong City Election Committee had received 89 candidate application dossiers for the City People’s Council.
All individuals introduced as candidates received 100 percent confidence votes from voters at their workplaces.
