Hai Phong's industry and trade sector targets 15.5% growth in IIP
In 2026, Hai Phong's industry and trade sector targets 15.5% growth in the index of industrial production (IIP), striving for 16% growth compared to 2025.

On the afternoon of January 21, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to review 2025 activities, deploy tasks for 2026, and award the People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist title winners.
In his speech at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong highly appreciated the achievements of the industry and trade sector in 2025.
2026 marks the first year of implementing the 5-year socio-economic development plan (2026-2030), serving as a launch-pad for accelerating growth in the city's new development phase.
To successfully achieve the city's main growth targets for 2026, including a 15.5% increase in IIP and striving for 16% compared to 2025, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong required the industry and trade sector to decisively and synchronously implement task groups and solutions. These should leverage the city's new opportunities and advantages to promote sustainable industrial growth.

The City Vice Chairman also called on the industry and trade sector to continue boosting exports and trade promotion, expanding markets while supporting businesses and effectively utilizing free trade agreements (FTAs), stabilizing the domestic market, proactively planning to balance supply and demand, and controlling prices of essential goods.
Additionally, the industry and trade sector is required to enhance market management effectiveness and resolutely combat smuggling, commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, and low-quality products, especially on online platforms.
