Technologies help Phalaenopsis orchid bloom right on Tet

Many gardeners in Hai Phong City have boldly applied science and technology to make Phalaenopsis orchids bloom precisely at the onset of spring.

The Phalaenopsis orchid garden of Mr. Duong Hai Doan in Cay Hamlet, Gia Phuc Commune, stands as one of the largest orchid gardens in Haiphong City. Each year, the garden cultivates around 100,000 Phalaenopsis plants across 30 different varieties.

To produce beautiful blooms right on Tet, growers must master scientific techniques, as this cold-loving species is ill-suited to Haiphong's climate.

Therefore, every aspect, from seedling quality, temperature, humidity, water sources, to fertilizers, must be meticulously controlled. The plants are grown in greenhouses equipped with air conditioning and ventilation systems, maintaining optimal growth temperatures between 10-20°C.

Although there's still one month until the Lunar New Year 2026, Phalaenopsis orchid gardens are already seeing many customers. Current garden prices range from 130,000 to 160,000 VND per pot.
