Director of the Domestic Market Management and Development Department has signed Decision No. 07 establishing working teams to inspect, supervise, and guide activities in preventing smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods; ensuring supply-demand balance; and stabilizing the market in several provinces and cities during the peak period before, during, and after the 2026 Lunar New Year.

According to the Decision, the working teams will operate from January 9 to March 15, 2026, with a focus on intensive operations in January, when consumer demand surges and risks of smuggling, commercial fraud, speculation, stockpiling, and food safety violations are high.

The Decision also specifies the formation of seven working teams, chaired directly by the Director and Deputy Directors of the Department, operating across key provinces and cities.

During their missions, the teams will conduct on-site inspections at goods depots, warehouses, markets, shopping centers, and supermarkets in the provinces and cities, with particular attention to remote, mountainous, and island areas. The teams will also survey border gates and border areas to assess the circulation of goods and monitor measures to prevent smuggling and commercial fraud.

In addition to field inspections, the teams will work with local Department of Industry and Trade leaders and affiliated units to evaluate the situation, review the implementation of directives and orders from the Minister of Industry and Trade, as well as guidance from the Domestic Market Management and Development Department. Their work will focus on implementing conclusions and instructions under the Secretariat’s Conclusion No. 207, Government Resolution No. 397, Ministerial Directive No. 18, and the peak plan of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s 389 Steering Committee for the period before, during, and after the 2026 Lunar New Year.
