Phalaenopsis orchid blooms in Hai Phong Port City
Pham Quynh orchid facility in Xich Tho residential quarter, An Hai ward, Hai Phong City, has pioneered investments in high-tech laboratories and greenhouses for Phalaenopsis orchid cultivation over many years.
These days, Pham Quynh orchid facility buzzes with activities, welcoming garden visitors while fulfilling orders, packaging, and shipping flowers. Spanning roughly 7,000 square meters, the site maintains four orchid gardens with around 100,000 plants ready for this year's Lunar New Year market.
Armed with acquired knowledge and hands-on experience, the orchid facility owner has boldly invested in a laboratory and netting systems for tissue culture propagation of Phalaenopsis orchids across over 1,000 square meters.
Through ongoing exchanges with domestic and international orchid growers, the model overcame early hurdles and grew increasingly efficient.
To ensure orchid growth and development, the entire production process employs cutting-edge agricultural technology. Greenhouses meet international standards, blocking sunlight and rain while preventing UV rays and providing insulation, complemented by temperature controls, ventilation fans, and heat sensors for ideal year-round conditions regardless of external weather.
Beyond local varieties, the orchid facility also imports new breeds from abroad for cultivation. Statistics show 10-15 distinct orchid varieties on site, meeting growing market diversity. Consistent quality has expanded sales from Hai Phong city to provinces like Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, and Bac Ninh.
