New rules set unemployment insurance rates
Vietnam's government has issued Decree 374/2025/ND-CP, detailing key Labor Law provisions on unemployment insurance, including clear rules for contributors, contribution rates, and benefit levels.

Accordingly, employers contribute 1% of the monthly payroll fund for workers enrolled in unemployment insurance. The state provides up to an additional 1% support from the central budget for these contributions. Under the government’s Decree number 374/2025/ND-CP, companies hiring new disabled workers receive a full exemption, reducing their rate from 1% to 0% for the first 12 months. Monthly unemployment benefits equal the worker's average salary over the six consecutive months of prior contributions./.
