Proactive Integration

In the final days of the year, at Phuc Dien Industrial Park, production at Nissei Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. (100% Japanese investment) is in full swing. The company is accelerating the completion of its final export orders for 2025 to meet delivery schedules for multiple partners. Nissei Vietnam’s order volume has grown steadily year by year. Notably, orders for the upcoming Lunar New Year increased by over 20% compared to 2024, clearly reflecting the recovery in consumer demand across its export markets.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thoi, Vice President of the Trade Union at Nissei Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd., said: “As a company specializing in optical components, plastic parts, and molds for electronic devices, Nissei Vietnam directly benefits from tariff reductions and simplified import-export procedures under the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed. These FTAs help the company maintain competitive costs and ensure a smooth supply chain, especially during the year-end peak season.”

Heesung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., a 100% Korean-invested company located in Trang Due Industrial Park, produces and assembles approximately 2.5 million high-tech electronic components annually for export to the United States and the European Union (EU). This contributes to increasing export value and consolidating Hai Phong’s position in the electronics industry. The company has added an additional USD 125 million in high-tech production investment, installing new factories and machinery, bringing its total investment in Hai Phong to USD 225 million.

Mr. Ko Tae Yeon, CEO of Heesung Electronics Vietnam, shared that Hai Phong offers clear advantages in terms of geographical location, a high-quality workforce, and strong support from government authorities. These factors provide a solid foundation for the company to commit to long-term operations.

Not only in the electronics sector, but Hai Phong’s textile and garment industry is also effectively leveraging its advantages. At Makalot Vietnam Garment Co., Ltd. (100% Taiwanese investment, located in Ha Tay commune), production and exports continue to maintain steady growth. Most of the company’s orders are produced for major export markets such as the EU and the United States, which directly benefit from preferential tariffs and origin rules under FTAs.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nguyen, Head of Administration and Human Resources at Makalot Vietnam, effectively utilizing FTAs helps businesses expand markets, provides a solid foundation for maintaining stable employment and reinforces the position of Vietnam’s garment industry on the global export map.

Alongside the proactive efforts of local businesses, Hai Phong has taken systematic steps to enhance the effectiveness of economic integration, contributing to export growth. One notable milestone is the issuance of Plan No. 258 of the City People’s Committee on September 24, 2025, aimed at improving the evaluation index for implementing Free Trade Agreements (FTA Index), with the goal of promoting exports, expanding markets, and enhancing business competitiveness.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Member of the City Party Committee and Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, stated that the Department disseminates guidance to local businesses to maximize the benefits of signed FTAs, especially new-generation FTAs. The Department also organizes specialized training on rules of origin for goods. The Department actively identifies and resolves difficulties faced by businesses in implementing FTAs and participates in developing an ecosystem to support enterprises in leveraging FTAs under the Government’s direction. Through these efforts, businesses are given maximum opportunities to diversify and expand export and import markets, reducing dependence on a few select markets.

These coordinated efforts have produced significant results. In 2025, Hai Phong’s total export turnover is estimated at USD 49.7 billion, up 7.52% compared to 2024, achieving 100% of the year’s plan. The export market structure has become increasingly diversified, spanning Asia, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East, helping businesses mitigate risks amid unpredictable global trade fluctuations.

Concluding a year full of positive milestones, Hai Phong has great opportunities to further accelerate export growth. Proactive integration, effective utilization of FTA advantages, and a more transparent, business-friendly investment environment are key drivers for growth. With confidence, determination, and a vision to reach further, the port city—where innovation meets integration—is expanding into global markets, making a significant contribution to the country’s overall development.
