Food Bank Hai Phong launched to support vulnerable groups
The Food Bank Hai Phong functions to receive, coordinate and distribute food resources to vulnerable groups such as workers in difficult circumstances.

The Hai Phong Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Vietnam Foodbanking Network and the Global FoodBanking Network, launched the Food Bank Hai Phong and introduced the Hai Phong Food Community Project on December 25.
The event marks a meaningful step amid growing demand for social welfare support, while addressing the urgent need to reduce food waste and allocate social resources in an effective and sustainable manner.
The Food Bank Hai Phong was established to receive, coordinate and distribute surplus food that still meets quality and safety standards; and connect supplies from enterprises, producers, distribution systems, supermarkets and restaurants to vulnerable groups such as workers facing hardship, elderly people living alone, children in special circumstances and other at-risk groups across the city.

Bui Manh Phuc, Chairman of the Hai Phong Red Cross Society, emphasized that building and operating the Food Bank Hai Phong is a concrete solution to realize the society’s humanitarian mission, shifting from short-term assistance to long-term, stable and scalable support models.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Foodbanking Network and the Hai Phong Red Cross Society presented 30 gifts, each valued at more than 600,000 VND, to disadvantaged households and individuals in the city.
