Hai Phong effectively implements social policy credit
Loans for poor households and other policy beneficiaries across Hai Phong has been allocated to all communes, wards, and special zones.
A delegation of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies conducted an inspection and supervision of social policy credit operations in Hai Phong on December 23.
The delegation highly evaluated social policy credit results in Hai Phong, particularly credit quality.
The delegation suggested that the Hai Phong branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to continue enhancing capacity and promoting the application of digital technology for staff engaged in entrusted lending activities; strength debt monitoring and management to maintain credit quality; and proactively identify risks at an early stage to ensure safe and effective credit operations.
Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee and Head of the Representative Board of Directors of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in Hai Phong, acknowledged and clarified the delegation’s comments, emphasizing that enhancing the application of digital technology for staff engaged in entrusted lending work is necessary to improve management efficiency, operational effectiveness, and service quality for the public.
He requested the Hai Phong branch of the bank to continue closely coordinating with departments, agencies, and localities in management and improvement of the quality of social policy credit.
The city People’s Committee will continue to pay attention, create favorable conditions, and consider supplementing capital sources for the branch. At the same time, the city hopes to continue receiving attention and support from the bank so that social policy credit programs in Hai Phong will be implemented more effectively, contributing to social security and sustainable socio-economic development.
To date, capital from the Hai Phong branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies has supported 60,965 borrowing households, including 7,190 poor, near-poor, and newly escaped-poverty households; offered loans for 24,274 clients for job creation, generating employment for nearly 25,000 workers…
Through credit programs, the borrowers were guided in production methods, application of technical advances, and effective use of capital, job creation, and increase in productivity of crops and livestock, contributing to improving social output.
