Cultural and spiritual life of workers enhanced
Through many creative and practical approaches, trade unions have not only improved the quality of workers’ life but also strengthened their attachment to the unions and enterprises.

Practical care
Over the past time, many grassroots trade unions have proactively and flexibly implemented activities to care for the cultural and spiritual life of workers in ways suited to the specific conditions of each enterprise.
Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of IKO Thompson Vietnam Co., Ltd. in Japan – Hai Phong industrial park, said that based on workers’ needs, the company’s trade union organizes football tournaments and musical performances and actively participates in movements launched by higher-level trade unions, achieving notable results in city-level events.
The trade union has also connected and opened free skills classes such as makeup and self-defense martial arts, helping members become more confident at work and in life.
Le Thi Kieu Anh, an employee of the company, said that participating in activities organized by the trade union makes her feel more excited and more attached to the enterprise. Many activities help workers relax after working hours, learn new skills and feel the care and attention of the trade union.
More than 6,000 union members and workers enthusiastically took part in various competitions and immersed themselves in special musical performances at the 2025 Sports Day and Yazaki Music Festival 2025 organized by the Trade Union of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd.
There, thousands of workers participated in a lucky draw with more than 200 valuable prizes such as televisions, mobile phones, washing machines and refrigerators, demonstrating the trade union’s practical care for workers’ spiritual life right at the grassroots level.
Putting union members at the center

Alongside the proactiveness of grassroots trade unions, the Hai Phong Confederation of Labor plays a guiding role by organizing many large-scale cultural and sports activities with strong spillover effects among union members, officials and workers across the city.
Recently, the New-era Trade Union Dance Festival, held within the framework of the first Job Fair in 2025 at the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, attracted more than 1,000 union members and workers. With 18 teams from trade unions of communes, wards, special zones and affiliated grassroots trade unions, the festival brought a youthful and vibrant atmosphere ranging from folk dance and ballroom dance to modern dance.
“The festival helps laborers improve their health, relieve stress, strengthen solidarity and contribute to improving the quality of cultural and spiritual life after long and tiring working hours,” said Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the city Confederation of Labor.
Surveys show that workers’ demand for cultural and sports activities is very high. In the final months of 2025, the city Confederation of Labor directed the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace to organize more than 30 skills classes, attracting about 1,500 union members. Classes in group singing, modern dance, folk dance, makeup, self-defense martial arts and flower arranging are organized after working hours right at enterprises and are completely free of charge, enabling workers to both improve their health and interact with one another.
When spiritual life is properly cared for, workers become more confident, attached and willing to accompany enterprises, creating a solid foundation for harmonious labor relations and the city’s sustainable development.
