Livestock production value exceeds 2025 plan by 1.04%
The livestock production value of Hai Phong in 2025 has exceeded 13.047 trillion VND, 1.04% higher than planned.

According to the Sub-department of Fisheries, Livestock Production and Animal Health under the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city’s livestock sector continues to record positive developments in 2025. Production value has exceeded 13.047 trillion VND, up 3.42% compared with 2024 and exceeding the 2025 plan by 1.04%.
Disease prevention and control for livestock and poultry were implemented effectively, with outbreaks handled in a timely manner. Quarantine activities, slaughter control, veterinary hygiene inspection, and veterinary drug management were strengthened. All quarantine dossiers were processed, with no cases detected of illegal transportation, slaughtering or trading of animals and animal products of unknown origin or infected with disease.
To date, the city has had 3,890 livestock farms, including 1,012 pig farms (25 large-scale, 288 medium-scale and 699 small-scale farms) and 2,878 poultry farms (three large-scale, 644 medium-scale and 2,131 small-scale farms). The farms account for 58.67% of the total pig herd and 53.78% of the total poultry flock. The city also has 63,074 household-scale livestock producers, including 14,408 pig-raising ones.
Hai Phong also has 18 concentrated livestock farming zones, covering a total area of 410 ha, with about 200 farms operating effectively. Farms in these concentrated zones apply waste treatment measures to limit environmental pollution and reduce the risk of disease transmission.
