Hai Phong Port JSC reaches 2 millionth TEU milestone in a year for first time
Hai Phong Port JSC. has, for the first time, handled 2 million TEU of containers in a single year.
TIL Hai Phong International Terminal Co., Ltd. (HTIT), a subsidiary of Hai Phong Port JSC., welcomed the 2 millionth TEU container in 2025 on December 14.
The 2 millionth container was handled from the vessel XINDALIAN.
This marks the first time in the more than 150-year history of formation and development that Hai Phong Port has achieved this milestone. It also makes the company the first seaport enterprise in northern Vietnam to record a container throughput exceeding 2 million TEU.
To reach this impressive milestone, Hai Phong Port has for years invested in expanding port capacity in a modern and sustainable direction. Most notably, berths No. 3 and 4 at the Lach Huyen port area were constructed and put into operation in early 2025.
Nguyen Tuong Anh, General Director of Hai Phong Port JSC., said that alongside improving handling capacity and operational organization, the company has focused on management innovation, development of high-quality human resources, and improvement of corporate culture.
These solutions have enabled the port to attract additional service routes, maintain stability among traditional customers, and expand its customer network.
In 2026 and the following years, Hai Phong Port will continue to invest in more berths at Lach Huyen and Nam Do Son port areas, while expanding modern logistics systems at Xuan Cau – Lach Huyen non-tariff zone and Bach Dang industrial park.
The port will also step up the application of digital technology, automation, and green port and smart port development solutions, contributing to developing supply chains and creating sustainable added value for the business community.
