Hai Phong Red Cross Society holds charity program in Son La

The Hai Phong Red Cross Society has organized a visit, gift giving and check-up program in Son La province with a total value of about 200 million VND.

The Hai Phong Red Cross Society, in coordination with the Red Cross Society and the Traditional Medicine Hospital of Son La, presented warm clothing to students and provided free medical examination and medicine for disadvantaged residents in the province from December 11 to 13.

Around 200 disadvantaged people and policy beneficiary families take part in the program.

At the Muoi Noi commune cultural house, the delegation visited and presented 961 warm coats to students of Ban Nam Primary and Junior High School. Medical workers conducted check-ups, consultations and provided free medicine to 250 disadvantaged people, policy beneficiary families and victims of Agent Orange. The total value of the program was about 200 million VND.

As planned, later this December, the Hai Phong Red Cross Society will organize another program to present warm clothing to disadvantaged students in Dien Bien province, with a total value of more than 60 million VND.

The funding for the programs was raised from businesses and benefactors by the Hai Phong Red Cross Society.
