Hai Phong Port targets 2 million TEU of container throughput in 2025

Responding to the “VIMC – 40 days of acceleration” campaign launched by Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC), Hai Phong Port JSC. has entered the year-end sprint to exceed key targets, including cargo throughput, new service route launching, and infrastructure improvement.
In business operations, Hai Phong Port aims to handle 250,000 TEU of containers by the end of 2025 to reach a total of 2 million TEU for the year.
At Tan Vu terminal, one of Hai Phong Port’s units, container throughput surpassed 1 million TEU in early December, marking the fifth consecutive year the terminal has achieved this milestone.
At Lach Huyen port, TIL Hai Phong International Terminal Co., Ltd. (HTIT) is expediting the completion of construction items behind berths 3 and 4. Earlier, HTIT successfully received the MCS Kalina container vessel operated by MSC, the largest container ship ever to berth at the port.

On November 25, Hai Phong Port, in cooperation with Beibu Group, welcomed the first trial vessel on a new service route linking Beihai Port in Guangxi (China), Hai Phong, and the US, at the HTIT terminal.
Alongside port operations, Hai Phong Port is accelerating its dredging project for the channel section from the upper area of Nam Hai Dinh Vu Port to the upper area of Dinh Vu Port, aiming to reach a depth of minus 8.5 meters to accommodate larger container vessels.
Also in December, the 5,000-horsepower Azimuth tugboat built for Hai Phong Port by Song Thu Corporation will be handed over and put into operation. This will become the port’s most powerful tugboat.
