Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau and the city delegation held a working session with the Vietnam Intellectual Association in Belgium and Luxembourg (ViLaB) on the afternoon of December 5 (local time) as part of their working trip to Europe.

Sharing information with the overseas Vietnamese business community, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau said the city is entering a new stage of development after merger, building on 11 consecutive years of double-digit economic growth and strengthening its position as Vietnam’s third-largest economy.

Expressing the desire to unlock resources from the Vietnamese community in Europe, promote Vietnam – EU relations in general, deepen economic ties between Vietnam and Belgium in particular, and support Hai Phong’s business community in international integration, the Secretary proposed several cooperation ideas with ViLaB.

In investment attraction, the city hopes overseas Vietnamese businesses will prioritize key investments in technology-intensive sectors, making use of Europe’s strengths in green industries, environmental treatment, renewable energy, and the circular economy.

Hai Phong always keeps its doors open, provides maximum support, and listens to all initiatives from the overseas Vietnamese business community, considering them a valuable resource for the city’s sustainable development.

In trade promotion, the city proposes that overseas Vietnamese businesses and Hai Phong enterprises support each other in market connections and in accessing the city’s preferential policies.

The Secretary encourages intellectuals and entrepreneurs of the overseas Vietnamese community in Belgium and Luxembourg to participate in strategic consultancy on innovation, emphasizing that Hai Phong always keeps its doors open, provides maximum support, and listens to all initiatives from the Vietnamese business community abroad, considering them a valuable resource for the city’s sustainable development.
