Ensuring top-quality completion of Hai Phong planning
Hai Phong planning for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, focuses on establishing new development spaces and maximizing the city’s potential and advantages.

Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau presided over a meeting on December 1 to hear a report on the formulation and adjustment of the city planning for the 2021 – 2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
The planning focuses on defining new development spaces and fully leveraging the city’s potential and advantages. It aims for high, sustainable, green and inclusive economic growth while ensuring national defence, security and long-term social stability. It also serves as an important basis for concretizing the guidelines and orientations of the Party and the socio-economic development strategy for the 2021 – 2030 period.

Delegates contributed many opinions on the approach, objectives, principles and legal basis for adjusting the planning, as well as assessments of Hai Phong’s outstanding development potential and conditions.
The planning must proactively seize opportunities and maximize the city’s advantages as a coastal urban center and a regional economic hub, serving as the “main gateway to the sea” for the entire Northern region. It envisions developing Hai Phong into a modern maritime economic center with international connectivity, acting as a driving force for the northern region and the whole country. It also requires suitable spatial arrangements for urban and rural development.

Chairman Le Ngoc Chau expressed appreciation and gratitude for the dedicated and highly responsible opinions of former city leaders, scientists and experts, which contribute to completing the planning with the highest quality.
The Chairman required that after the meeting, departments, sectors and localities focus on studying and contributing to the planning contents with the highest sense of responsibility and submit them to the lead agency before December 12. The Department of Finance, together with the consulting unit, must urgently incorporate the supplementary opinions, make adjustments and complete the report before December 27 so the city can submit it to the Prime Minister for review and approval as required.
