Hai Phong students win first prize at English public speaking contest
Students from Hong Quang Senior High School in Hai Phong have won first prize at the Unlock The IELTS 2025 public speaking contest after surpassing 11 outstanding teams in the final round.

The final round of the Unlock The IELTS 2025 public speaking contest brought together 12 outstanding teams, including 10 senior high schools (SHS) from Ha Noi and two from Hai Phong: Hong Quang and Thanh Ha.
Contestants completed a general knowledge test assessing critical thinking, reflexes, and social awareness in English, followed by a public speaking round, which evaluated reasoning, creativity, and the ability to inspire through globally relevant topics.

The team from Hong Quang SHS, including Bui Phuong Thao, Tran Khuong Linh Thu, and Bui Bao Phung, persuaded the judges with well-structured arguments, clear thinking, and confident presentation skills in their speech on the topic “What makes Vietnam a country to be proud of?”
As a result, the organizing committee awarded first prize to Hong Quang SHS. Yen Hoa and Nhan Chinh SHSs (Ha Noi) received second prize. Thanh Ha SHS (Hai Phong), Viet Duc and My Dinh SHSs (Ha Noi) won third prize, along with six consolation prizes for teams with impressive performances.
