Hai Phong honors Vietnamese ao dai
The street parade ‘Honoring Vietnamese ao dai’ featured the participation of nearly 1,000 people from various provinces, cities and art units.

A vibrant and colorful parade “Honoring Vietnamese ao dai (traditional long dress)” took place at the square of Hai Phong Opera House and along central streets on the afternoon of November 23.

The event was part of the exhibition “Vietnam’s cultural heritage, scenic landscapes and traditional handicraft products 2025,” held in celebration of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23.

The parade brought together nearly 1,000 participants from many provinces, cities and art organizations.

Festive energy filled the atmosphere as music rose and hundreds of ao dai flowed gracefully against the classical architecture of the Hai Phong Opera House.

Along the route, residents eagerly captured memorable moments, while many international visitors stopped to watch and cheer.

The parade introduced a multi-hued artistic space: from traditional ao dai inspired by ancient attire to intricately hand-embroidered designs and modern, youthful variations. Each group showcased its own identity through colors, accessories and performance styles, creating a rich cultural connection among localities.

The “Honoring Vietnamese ao dai” parade not only enriched the heritage exhibition but also spread love and pride for the traditional costume, an enduring and elegant symbol of Vietnamese culture.
