Hai Phong provides cash, essential goods and medical supplies to support Dak Lak residents
Hai Phong has so far provided Dak Lak province with 50 billion VND in cash along with essential goods and medical supplies to help local people cope with flooding.

Immediately after landing at Tuy Hoa Airport in Dak Lak province at noon on November 23, a delegation of Hai Phong leaders led by Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee Nguyen Minh Hung visited, encouraged and delivered financial and material support to Dak Lak residents affected by severe flooding.
On behalf of Hai Phong’s leadership, the Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee handed over 40 billion VND in cash and various types of medicines and medical supplies worth 2 billion VND to Dak Lak province to support emergency relief efforts and address urgent local needs.
Expressing appreciation for the timely support from the Party Committee, authorities, armed forces and people of Hai Phong, Chairman of the Dak Lak People’s Committee Ta Anh Tuan said the flooding had caused severe losses of life and property. Many areas remain deeply inundated, making daily life extremely difficult for residents.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Minh Hung requested city departments and sectors to consolidate Dak Lak’s reported difficulties and proposals to develop targeted support plans. As an immediate step, he asked for the prompt development of a plan to coordinate the delivery of goods and assist the province in healthcare, environmental sanitation, stabilization of people’s lives and production restoration, urgent issues that require immediate action.

Regarding clean water treatment, Le Minh Quang, Director of the Hai Phong Department of Health, said he had ordered the transport of 2.5 tons of Chloramine and 400,000 aquatabs water purification tablets to Dak Lak, enough to treat about 80,000 m³ of clean water. About 300 – 500 medical workers are also ready to be deployed to support the province.
To date, Hai Phong has provided Dak Lak Province with 50 billion VND in cash along with essential goods and medical supplies to help local people cope with flooding.
In addition to support from the city, Hai Phong residents and charity groups have raised funds, delivered goods and sent money to assist people in the South-Central region, including Dak Lak.
In recent days, the South-Central and Central Highlands regions, particularly Dak Lak province, have suffered continuous heavy rainfall. Preliminary statistics as of the afternoon of November 23 show that Dak Lak province has recorded nearly 30 deaths, eight people missing and two injured. Around 15,000 houses have been submerged, and transportation, education and healthcare infrastructure has suffered extensive damage. Approximately 3.2 million livestock and poultry have died; 127,000 aquaculture cages and 1,000 hectares of brackish-water shrimp farms have been destroyed. About 18,000 hectares of crops have been flooded or ruined, with total estimated losses across the province exceeding 5.3 trillion VND.
