Previously, Hai Phong tourism was largely seasonal, with activity concentrated in the summer months in Do Son and Cat Ba. Today, however, the city is shaping a “four-season tourism” model, a sustainable direction that promises long-term economic benefits.
Alongside its coastal and island advantages, the city is focusing on developing cultural, ecological, spiritual and culinary tourism, helping position the sector as a key economic driver that generates jobs and spreads community value.
In 2025, Hai Phong and its partner localities developed three distinctive tour packages. These are regional linked products connecting Hai Phong with Quang Ninh and Bac Giang, localities that jointly share outstanding global values within the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac complex recently recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
These tours not only expand the tourism space but also help position Hai Phong as the “gateway to heritage tourism” in Northern Vietnam, a starting point, stopover and exploration hub for cultural, spiritual and ecological journeys of regional and international significance.
Leaders of the People’s Committees of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh have recently held an important working session to promote regional tourism development. Through this, both sides aim to form inter-regional routes connecting Cat Ba – Ha Long – Yen Tu – Con Son, Kiep Bac, contributing to elevating Hai Phong and Quang Ninh as leading tourism centers in the country while enhancing international competitiveness.
The city also organized a conference on communication and training to improve the quality of the Hai Phong Foodtour culinary tourism product in 2025, aiming to standardize services, strengthen service skills and promote the “Hai Phong Foodtour” brand, a unique feature attracting both domestic and international visitors.
Hai Phong’s tourism breakthrough is the result of coordinated efforts from local authorities, departments, sectors, businesses and the community. Transport infrastructure has been heavily invested in, while accommodation, entertainment and culinary services continue to be upgraded. Travel businesses are proactively refreshing their products and applying digital technologies in promotion and service booking, offering convenient and modern experiences for visitors.
With clear orientation, strategic vision and strong determination across the entire system, Hai Phong tourism has solid grounds to rise as a spearhead economic sector, making important contributions to socio-economic growth and enhancing the city’s position on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.
