Hai Phong Traditional Theatre performs in South Korea
Hai Phong Traditional Theatre has recently presented a series of captivating folk art performances, including a water puppet show that debuted for the first time in Gangjin, South Korea.

Hai Phong Traditional Theatre took part in “Vietnam Day in Gangjin 2025,” held on November 2 at Gangjin Bay Ecological Park, Jeonnam province, South Korea.

The event was part of the Gangjin Reed Festival 2025, co-organized by the Vietnamese Association in Jeonnam–Gwangju, Gangjin authorities and Korean–Vietnamese partners. It is the largest cultural festival of the Vietnamese community in South Korea.

At the opening ceremony and throughout the event, Hai Phong Traditional Theatre brought audiences a variety of performances rich in Vietnamese cultural identity, such as puppetry, flute music, and hat van (spiritual singing).

Notably, traditional Vietnamese water puppetry was performed in Gangjin for the first time, featuring unique classical acts that left a strong impression on South Korean audiences and the Vietnamese community.

The participation of Hai Phong Traditional Theatre not only helped promote the traditional art and culture of Vietnam and Hai Phong city but also fostered cultural exchange and strengthened the friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and South Korea, affirming the vital role of culture in people-to-people diplomacy in the era of integration.
