Hai Phong strengthens links between FDI and domestic supporting enterprises
To participate more deeply in the supply chains of FDI enterprises, supporting businesses need to improve their capacity and production technology to meet requirements on quality, progress, cost, and legal compliance.

The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority organized a conference on October 31 to connect FDI enterprises operating in the city’s industrial parks and economic zones with domestic supporting enterprises in 2025.
The event attracted a large number of FDI and domestic enterprises.
According to the authority, by October 2025, industrial parks and economic zones in the city had attracted 1,011 projects with a total FDI of approximately 42.7 billion USD.

FDI flows are shifting from extensive to intensive growth. Many leading global corporations have invested in large-scale, high-tech projects, such as LG (10.5 billion USD), Bridgestone (1.22 billion USD), Regina Miracle (1 billion USD), and Pegatron (900 million USD).
At the conference, representatives of FDI enterprises, associations, and local companies exchanged information on needs and supply capacities to join FDI enterprises’ production chains with the best possible quality.
Representatives of both FDI and supporting enterprises expressed their desire to establish practical cooperation, considering this an opportunity to expand supply sources, move toward stable and high-quality local suppliers with competitive costs, and reduce dependence on imports.

In addition, joining the supply chains of FDI enterprises and multinational corporations is seen as the most direct and practical path for domestic supporting industries to reach the global market.
Speaking at the conference, Le Trung Kien, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee, and Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, emphasized that supporting industries are the “link” determining the depth of localization, speed of product supply, and adaptability and resilience of supply chains.
To participate more deeply in FDI enterprises’ supply chains, he suggested that supporting enterprises strengthen their capacity, expertise, and production technology to meet increasingly high standards in quality, progress, costs, and regulatory and legal compliance.

The city Economic Zone Authority and Business Association will continue to play a coordinating and connecting role, helping supporting enterprises upgrade their capabilities and access the procurement plans and needs of FDI enterprises.
