Digital transformation elevates OCOP products
Many cooperatives and businesses in Hai Phong have swiftly adopted digital technology to promote and sell OCOP products, opening a new path for local agricultural goods toward sustainable development and global integration.

A shift in mindset
Established about four years ago, Phu Dien High-tech and Organic Agricultural Cooperative in An Phu commune, Hai Phong has quickly built a strong position thanks to its distinct approach that combines high-tech farming and digital transformation.
Baby cucumber is the cooperative’s first product grown in modern greenhouses and net houses, helping control pests while ensuring stable yields and consistent quality. The product earned a 3-star OCOP certification in 2022 and is now sold steadily in many provinces and cities.
In addition, the cooperative’s Korean milk grapes have also received a 3-star OCOP rating and gained positive consumer feedback.
Recognizing the role of digital technology in brand promotion, the cooperative has developed its own website and actively introduced products on social media platforms such as Facebook and Zalo. During harvest seasons, product images are regularly shared and updated online, expanding the cooperative’s reach to more young customers, the potential consumer base of the digital era.
Many Hai Phong enterprises having OCOP products are also keeping pace with the digitalization trend, typically Quang Hai Co., Ltd. in Cat Hai district with 16 products certified as 4-star OCOP ones.
Since 2022, the company has strengthened online promotion through social media platforms while expanding sales channels via e-commerce sites such as Shopee and Lazada. It also produces numerous product videos on Tiktok to reach wider audiences.
According to the company’s representative, digital transformation has made it easier to connect with customers. Consumers can now interact directly and give feedback through online platforms, instead of only learning about products at fairs, stores, or supermarkets. This approach helps Quang Hai Co., Ltd. both build brand awareness and promptly capture market demand, optimizing its business operations.
Expanding connections
To help enterprises and cooperatives seize opportunities in the digital era, in August 2025, the city Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Center for E-commerce and Digital Technology Development under the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized a training workshop on “Digital platform business skills, brand development, and image building for OCOP products.”
“Equipping enterprises and business households with knowledge and skills in e-commerce, digital marketing, and online brand development plays a vital role in enhancing their competitiveness. Hai Phong has many notable agricultural, aquatic, and rural industrial products, including a wide range of OCOP items well recognized nationwide,” said Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Vu Thi Kim Phuong at the event.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Hai Phong has so far had 855 OCOP products, 647 of which remain valid. These products are mainly in sectors such as agricultural produce, food, processed foods (confectionery), local specialties, traditional handicrafts, and tourism services. Through digital transformation in production and distribution, these products are no longer limited by geography. Online platforms enable businesses, cooperatives, and household producers to build brand identity, expand distribution channels, and even connect local goods with tourism and international trade.
With the support of authorities, the proactive efforts of enterprises and cooperatives, and the creativity of farmers, each OCOP product not only carries the identity of its homeland but also embodies the spirit of the digital era.
