Armed forces of Military Region 3 awarded first-class Fatherland Protection Order

State President Luong Cuong attended and delivered a keynote speech at a ceremony of Military Region 3 on October 28 marking the 80th traditional day of its armed forces.

Party General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent flowers to congratulate the unit on this occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony on behalf of the Party and State leadership, President Luong Cuong affirmed that over the past 80 years of building, fighting, and growing under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, directly and regularly guided by the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, and with the love and support of the people, officers and soldiers of Military Region 3 have always upheld the glorious and heroic traditions of the Red River Delta and the Vietnamese nation.

In all circumstances, the armed forces of Military Region 3 have remained absolutely loyal to the Party, closely bonded with the people, united, disciplined, resourceful, courageous, and determined to win. They have closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and other units to achieve resounding victories, cultivating the tradition of “Unity, initiative, creativity, sacrifice, and victory,” and contributing to the proud heritage of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army and the noble qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” cherished and trusted by the people.

The President highly commended and warmly congratulated the great achievements and contributions of the armed forces of Military Region 3 to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation over the past 80 years.

To fulfill the mission of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new era, the President urged the Party Committee, High Command, officers, and soldiers of Military Region 3 to continue promoting their heroic traditions, building a comprehensively strong force that is absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people, and to successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leadership, President Luong Cuong presented the first-class Fatherland Protection Order to the armed forces of Military Region 3 for their outstanding and exceptional achievements in training, combat readiness, force building, and national defense, contributing to the cause of socialist construction and Fatherland protection.

Delivering the commemorative speech, Major General Luong Van Kiem, Commander of Military Region 3, said that throughout eight decades, generations of officers and soldiers have upheld the spirit of “Unity, initiative, creativity, sacrifice, and victory,” remaining absolutely loyal to the Party, the State, and the people; persevering through hardships and sacrifices to contribute, along with the entire army and people, to the nation’s great victories.

In the period of peace, the armed forces have continued to promote their traditions, successfully fulfilling military and defense tasks, maintaining political stability and social order in their areas, and playing a key role in disaster prevention and control as well as epidemic response.

For their outstanding achievements, the armed forces of Military Region 3 have been honored by the Party and State with two Gold Star Orders, three Ho Chi Minh Orders, five Independence Orders, one first-class Fatherland Protection Order, and many other prestigious awards.
