Hai Phong, Quang Ninh strengthen cooperation in tourism development
Hai Phong and Quang Ninh both hold strong potential for tourism development; thus, strengthening cooperation will help boost the tourism industries of both localities.

The People’s Committees of Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province had a working session on October 22 to discuss cooperation in tourism development and the operation of tourist transportation in Lan Ha Bay (Hai Phong) and Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh).
At the meeting, leaders of the two localities reviewed the outcomes of their tourism cooperation in recent years. Both sides affirmed that tourism linkage and cooperation have always received strong attention from their respective leaderships. Many joint programs for tourism development were implemented in a coordinated and effective manner.

In particular, the inscription of Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site marked an important milestone connecting the two localities, contributing to the protection, sustainable management, and integrity of the world heritage while attracting more visitors.
Since 2023, the number of tourists to Cat Ba and Ha Long has seen remarkable growth. In the first nine months of 2025 alone, Cat Ba welcomed 3.87 million visitors, while Ha Long received 2.63 million.

Participants in the meeting also discussed and gave opinions on draft coordination regulations for State management of inland waterway vessels transporting passengers and tourists on Ha Long and Lan Ha bays; a coordination plan for the official announcement of the Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son, Kiep Bac complex as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site; and a tourism cooperation plan between the two localities for the 2026 – 2030 period.
